Funeral Service Essentials: How Personalized Touch On The Casket Creates Loving Memories

By Jay Dickson

If you have purchased a simple casket for a family member and you still need to stretch your budget for other things, you may opt to adorn the casket yourself and dismiss the overpriced flower arrangements to be made. Just a small bouquet can beautifully beautify the casket. Custom-made floral arrangements look really great but it doesn't mean that you have to pay too much for these when you can create your own arrangements at cheaper cost.

You can come up with your own floral arrangements by using floral foam, florist's wire and a basket you crafted with ribbons purchased from a local shop. It would be safe for you to pick those flowers that are in season from the yard of some relatives, friends or even your own yard. If you know the favorite bunch of flowers of your deceased loved one, use that. Yet, you can always choose for silk flowers as a substitute for real ones which you can spot in craft shops if alternatives are limited.

There are several of floral arrangement guides you can find in craft magazines especially on tutorial websites online. You would be surprised how much you can do with what you already have available.

For some who are not fond of flowers as decoration on coffins and want to be different, they use a collection of snaps with and of the deceased or person. You can ask family and friends to give photos and other mementos left with them and beautify the coffin with an entire picture montage which will strike the individuals close to them with fondness and grand memories.

Together with the photographs, you can include personal souvenirs or memorabilia. These could be anything from a bit of material belonging which has a very special significance or emblematic of the deceased. You can gather them all together on top of the casket lid covering most of the surface.
