A Search Engine Rankings Case Study Report

By Linda Greenthal

Down below I have included two positioning evaluations for The Affinity Trading Group. To shield the privacy of my customers, I blocked the keywords and key phrases through which they rank for. Nonetheless, I do maintain the # of queries as that shows the competition level and overall search value. While many individuals focus on positioning for substantial volume keywords, me included, it is very important observe that lower volume search phrases are just of the same quality given that they do signify a well characterized special market as opposed to more generalized higher volume words and phrases and this highly targeted traffic is often the kind of person that may be specifically interested in what you have to provide. To that note, keep in mind, my intention is to position nicely for each of the specified key-phrases as I do continue to fixate on those biggies ;-)

The first file is an image screen grab of the review I ran at the conclusion of August. Be aware that my Seo service with them initiated at the conclusion of July which means this August report provides approximately one month of Search engine optimization work. In July they ranked for merely a small selection of keywords with those key words ranking over 50 (1 being the initial space on page 1 and 50 being the last area on page 5). So as you will notice, within a month, I had been able to shift 14 keywords and phrases into the top 20 rankings with 5 of them getting best 10. I do not include search values with this report however I will point out that their per month search volumes ranged from 1,500 to 22,000.

Once I go into new project, I don't waste time looking to rank large value phrases. I first focus on the lower level words and phrases for a couple of reasons. 1) They will advance sooner consequently enabling you to notice some traffic right away and 2) The work that is given to strengthening these lower size keywords will trickle down and eventually assist the other higher quantity search terms. Proper Search engine optimization is a lot like building a house. You must construct a powerful foundation with lower level search phrases, put up your walls with your mid level keywords so that you can have a stable framework to support and maintain your higher volume phrases (the roof).

Now let us bounce ahead a couple of months into the end of this month (November). After downloading the below rankings analysis, you can see that adequate movement has been made. Aside from getting more keyword phrases enter into the top 100 position, I was capable to improve the best twenty count to thirty six keywords / phrases (formerly fourteen) and the top 10 to 23 keywords and phrases (formerly five). I was in addition able to position well for some big volume key phrases with one having a competitive 450,000 month-to-month search volume keyword sitting nicely in the #11 place.

The ten to twenty ranking location is usually a rough position to break free from as it can certainly at times require months for high size key phrases to move from say a #15 to #9 or #10, but I continue to see very good success with these key phrases and in due time, they will get there. Just as with everything else, the closer you reach the top, the less room you will find.

Furthermore, it's at this juncture whereby Affinity finds that their traffic ratio has leaned to the side of search engine traffic which means that +33% of their traffic is as a result of search engines (primarily Google) whilst the other 2/3 is arriving as a result of direct connections and website referrals.
