How the Samsung Mesmerize Stacks Up to Other Phones

By Brian Tachunga

The Samsung Mesmerize is projected to be one of the most successful smart phones released by Samsung in several months, as it will contain a number of unique features available for a reasonable price that set it apart from other smart phones and PDAs powered by Google's Android. There are not many smart phones out there that can boast of running the Android 2.1 profile on a 4 inch touch screen with a super AMOLED display besides the Mesmerize. When you factor out the smart phones that don't include a 5.0 megapixel camera with a flash and a small, stylish, and sleek package that weighs in at less than 4.2 ounces, it becomes clear that the Mesmerize is one of the more unique smart phones currently on the market.

One of the most direct things that sets the Samsung's new phone apart from other Android powered smart phones is its 5 megapixel camera with a built in flash. Virtually every smart phone on the market comes with a camera these days, so that isn't too surprising; the challenge now is to include cameras of ever increasing quality. The Mesmerize sets the standard with its 5 megapixel camera, and takes things a step farther by including a camera that comes with a flash. You no longer have to worry about if your pictures will show up or if they will be blurry due to movement and a lack of light; with the flash that comes with the Mesmerize's camera, you can get the shot you want every time.

Beyond an excellent camera with a built in flash, one of the other top features of the Mesmerize is its Hummingbird processor. One of the biggest determinants of the quality of a smart phone is the processor; the processor is what keeps all of your apps running at the same time without slowing down the phone to a crawl. The Mesmerize includes the new Hummingbird processor, which allows you to take advantage of all kinds of apps without worrying about your phone slowing down or even worse, freezing in the middle of a movie or a conversation on Facebook.

As unique as the Mesmerize is, it is still susceptible to damage. It isn't a bad idea to look into some of the many accessories available in stores or online so you can keep your smart phone doing everything it was intended to do for longer. If you want the body of the smart phone to stay in good shape for years, seriously consider purchasing acase to store the phone in.

Similarly, if you want to keep the screen from getting scratched up by your keys and other things that find their way into your pocket, pick up a screen protector to protect your screen. You will thank yourself for making the decision six months from now when your smart phone screen still works as well as it did the day you picked it up at the store.
