Is Your Computer Running Slow Because of Unneeded Programs That Use Your PCs Memory Up?

By Micheal Murphy

If you are like many of us and work out of your home office it is hard to meet deadlines when our personal computer does not stay up with our hectic work pace. Plus it is very trying when they're so sluggish that they very nearly die each time we make some resource intensive programs requiring a lot of computer memory.

There can be many causes for your computer running slow issues. It is in recognizing these reasons that we could find actual solutions - even the simple fixes that we can do ourselves. And saving money on computer repair is important to all of us.

Also the brand new computer may be performing below normal, particularly if the supplier of your Computer installed some unneeded programs before purchase. What you need to do is to open your PC and look at the notification part of the lower task-bar (this would usually be in the bottom right corner, but depends on how you have your task-bars arranged). There may be a number of icons concealed in the task-bar that actually runs in the background when you are doing your work. This means that it may well eat up much of the free memory from your PC, making it function slower when multiple programs are being used.

To be completely sure, click right on top of the task-bar and then choose "task manager" and the Windows Task Manager should pop up. You may also open this by pressing the shortcut "control-alt-delete" key while the computer is on but be careful and simply push the shortcut just once or your computer will reboot. From here you will see just how many applications run in the background (including the quantity of memory storage capacity they use). Also, simply shut down unnecessary programs by highlighting the single program and then clicking the "End Task" button.

Of course there are additional reasons for a computer running slow but doing this will help your personal computer perform a good bit quicker than before.
