Top Tricks For the iPhone

By Pietro Ferrari

Do you have an irritating colleague who constantly shows around his new iPhone? Does your significant other or sibling usually get and use it? How would you like to get back at them?

If you're able to get hold of his iPhone while he or she is gone for only a few minutes, then you are one step ahead. In the case of a coworker, wait until he or she is away for a conference or is gone to the restroom and left his or her phone on the desk. This might take a lot of meticulous planning and just waiting around, but it will likely be well worth your time and effort.

With siblings this should actually be a whole lot easier because you most likely live with all of them; this will give you more time and opportunity.

The very first thing you could do is modify the language controls into a really strange language such as Chinese. Go to Settings -- General -- International and then Language.

Yet another amusing gag you could try is chaning the order of their applications. Just press and hold any icon until they all are constantly moving, and then simply move them around, even going to other screens. For anybody who is upgraded to the most current iOS update, try organizing them in a confusing combination of folders. You can do this by dragging apps over each other. The phone should allow you to relabel the categories or folder when you see the inside of one.

Obviously, there is the well known wallpaper replacing stunt. If you have the most current version of iOS (4.0 and above on iPhone), you can choose a background. All you need it to get a really funny (or unpleasant) image. You will need to locate it in Safari, press and hold the picture, and tap Save Image. Then, proceed to the Wallpaper option inside the Settings menu and choose the photo you just took.

Last of all, a totally wonderful prank is displaying a fake screenshot of their background (with apps and all) and then locking the device. Once the victim unlocks their phone, they will be puzzled as to why their apps aren't working. The downside to this prank is that whenever a user taps, usually some bar will get displayed, so the trick will lose its magic pretty quickly.

Having said that, there are a few apps that fix this problem and offer a number of other excellent pranks and tricks.
